Title: God Will Provide All You Need
Scripture: Romans 8:31-39

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;

We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Message

George Miller is considered to be one of the spiritual giants of the church.

Do yourself a favor and read his life-story.

Faced time and time again with the overwhelming needs, he turned to God in prayer, claiming his promises and experiencing amazing miracles.

But great faith does not come overnight; it comes over a lifetime of walking with God.

Miller said, “My faith is the same faith which is found in every believer. It has been increased little by little for the last twenty-six years. Many times when I would have gone insane from worry, I was at peace because my soul believed the truth of God’s promises.

God’s Word, together with the whole character of God as He has revealed Himself, settles all questions. His unchangeable love and His infinite wisdom calmed me. I knew, ‘God is able and willing to deliver me.’

It is written, ‘He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

You say, “How do I get this kind of faith?”

The Bible says, “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17)

Just as a daily diet of good nutrition strengthens you physically, so do reading, meditating, studying, verbalizing, and standing on God’s Word each day strengthen you spiritually.

The ‘secret’ of successful Christian living is not a secret at all – just get into God’s Word and get God’s Word in you.

You can’t avoid anxiety-producing situations in life, but when your faith is strong you can overcome them.

Reflection: (Romans 8:31-34)

Do you ever think that because you aren’t good enough for God, He will not save you?

Do you ever feel as if salvation is for everyone else but you?

Then these verses are especially for you.

If God gave His Son for you, He isn’t going to hold back the gift of salvation!

If Christ have His life for you, He isn’t going to turn around and condemn you!

He will not withhold anything you need to live for Him.

The book of Romans is more than a theological explanation of God’s redeeming grace – it is a letter of comfort and confidence addressed to you.

Reflection: (Romans 8:34)

Paul says that Jesus is pleading for us in heaven.

God has acquitted us and has removed our sin and guilt, so it is Satan not God, who accuses us.

When he does, Jesus, our advocate, sits at God’s right hand to present our case. (See Hebrews 4:14-15)

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;

We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Reflection: (Romans 8:35-36)

These words were written to a church that would soon undergo terrible persecution.

In just a few years, Paul’s hypothetical situations would turn into painful realities.

This passage reaffirms God’s profound love for His people.

No matter what happens to us, no matter where we are, we can never be separated from His love.

Suffering should not give us away from God but help us to identify with Him and allow His love to heal us.

Reflection: (Romans 8:35-39)

These verses contain one of the most comforting promises in all Scripture.

Believers have always had to face hardships in many forms:

  • Persecution
  • Illness
  • Imprisonment
  • Death

These sometimes cause them to fear that Christ has abandoned them.

But Paul exclaims that it is impossible to be separated from Christ.

His death for us is proof of His unconquerable love.

Nothing can separate us from Christ’s presence.

God tells us how great His love is so that we will feel totally secure in Him.

If we believe these overwhelming assurances, we will not be afraid.

37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,

Reflection: (Romans 8:38)

Powers are unseen forces of evil in the universe, forces like Satan and his fallen angels (See Ephesians 6:12).

39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shal

In Christ we are superconquerers, and His love will protect us from any such forces.
